The Intelligent Robot Innovation Convergence College Project Team at Tech University of Korea (TU) has won the Best Paper Award at the "2024 Spring Academic Conference of the Korean Society of Manufacturing Technology Engineers (KSMTE)."

The KSMTE Spring Academic Conference is an academic event that features outstanding papers in the field of production and manufacturing technology. It provides an opportunity to assess trends and research directions in production and manufacturing technologies. TU participated in the conference with teams from the Department of Mechatronics Engineering and the Department of Mechanical Engineering, introducing a delta robot system designed to align randomly placed objects.

This technology, equipped with a vision algorithm, won the Best Paper Award for its image processing technique aimed at improving the recognition rate of the delta robot. The research was originally developed last year as a capstone design project by the Department of Mechatronics Engineering and previously won the Alumni Association President’s Award at last year’s TU Engineering Fair.

Jeong Myeong-jin, the head of the Intelligent Robot Innovation Convergence College Project Team, remarked, "It was a great opportunity to showcase the excellent research capabilities of TU students through this academic conference."
